What are the mistakes i am doing with my fish tank?
I have a 30 gallon fish tank with some artificial plants. I use freshwater but add some amount of salt as the person from whom i bought the fish told so.These are the fishes in my tank 2 Red fin Shark a little smaller than Med 1 Pleco Tank Cleaner Small 2 Common Gold Fish a little smaller than Med 2 Black Moor Med 2 Spotted ctenopoma Small 1 Dwarf Gourami2 Black Channel Catfish Small 2 Zebra Danio Small 1 White Metriaclima Med tell about the fish compatible and tank space for fishes and also about adding those salts but the fish is normal and the salt is not affecting the fishes till now , and also give few suggestions.

When is the best time and the easiest way to clean my fish tank?
I just got a starter tank and have 6 tropical fish. The water seems a bit milky. I have a filter and heater. Do I need to get the water tested? How often do I need to clean it out and what are some easy ways to do so. Thanks

I have this cloud in my fish tank that just developed and wont go away.?
I tried everything new filter water changes.I bought tablets with good bacteria in them.Could i be feeding them to much i have been feeding them the same as i always have.I have one fan tail and one pink kissing fish.And use the tiny pellets how many pellets would you say i need to feed these two fish? I have heard you can not under feed a gold fish but you can over feed one thanks.And should i clean the gravel.Someone at pet store told me not to beacause it is going to kill the good bateria.I guess i have to take the whole tank apart wich i have not done in a while and clean the glass from the inside.

What does it mean when a fish does this?
One of guppies died yesterday She had ich when I bought her, and I tried everything, raising the temp to 82, putting a bubbler, salt, and medicine. I literally treated her three times, and finally the ich got so bad, she died today. But for the last 24 hours before she died, she was swimming her head face down and kept trying to get upright. I dont even mean upside down, I mean face down vertically. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

What's the name of the black fish that eats algae in an aquarium?
So I'm getting a lot of algae in my aquarium and want to buy one of those fish that eat it. Does anyone know what they're called and if I can put one in a cold water aquarium with gold fish.

My fish almost survived the winter?
We watched them swimming around through the hole in the ice from the fountain all winter. The ice melted and now 3 out of 4 have died. All the color looks like it was washed out of them, almost like they were bleached. Any ideas on what the cause could be.Yes they were on occasion, swimming through the opening. I know they were dead when they started floating. They were fine in the colder weather, this has all happened in the last week to 10 days after the ice melted with the last storm that came through.

I have fish in a pond in back yard. i have lost 5 of them to a slime that starts from the tail and works up?
the slime seems to encase the fish and suffocates them i guess. they become sluggish and dont eat. is this a parasite or a fungi . i think it came with a few goldfish i put in there they have died and now it seems to be going to the est of my fish.it is transparent with maby a green tint may be surroundings

Betta fish problems What does he have? and how to treat it?
i have 2 Betta's they both live in separate tanks and they have all the same plants.i clean both there tanks the same way. the tanks are filtered and are cleaned avery 2 weeks but i change out a cup of water every week just to make sure they have clean water.... i found that one of my fish yesterday acting weird not wanting to eat and some dark patches on his skin.... the other one USA is doing fine nothing is wrong with him it was really late at night so i waiting till the next day got up early to go get Bettafix a 7 day treatment so we are on day one ... i took a quick peek today when i looked at him there was Cotton like stuff on him... i grabbed my keys and went to petsmart got the stuff came home.. did about a 50 % water change and added the meds to the tank with some aquarium salt to help.... Why does my betta fish dart around his tank?

My Betta Fish won't swim?
I got a Betta Fish two days ago, and when I first got him he was swimming around all night and he was fine. Today though he just sits at the bottom and does nothing. I keep him in a fish bowl and theres no fake plants he could cut himself on. Plus I feed him normally and there's a lamp over the bowl that keeps the water warm. So I don't know what's wrong with him..
